SHM Automation Service

ARTeMIS Modal Pro can be executed as a stand-alone desktop application that can analyze a structure continuously as long as the application is running. To analyze another structure will require that the new structure’s project file is opened and analysis is started using new measurements files. This is a cumbersome and rather manual process that the SHM Automation Service handles automatically.

Inside ARTeMIS Modal Pro desktop application, the structures to analyze by the SHM Automation service can be configured. The projects of the structures to analyze are added to a list written to an XML file. Once this list is complete, the ARTeMIS Modal Pro desktop application is closed and the SHM Automation Service can be started. This Windows 64-bit service will now use the available ARTeMIS Modal Pro license and run the application in a transparent mode. The service uses the XML file to locate the different structure projects.

In a sequential manner the following is carried out for each project:

• Project is opened is opened
• New measurement files are loaded and possibly merged to longer analysis files
• The requested analysis is performed. This is typically Operational Modal Analysis and Damage Detection.
• The results are stored in the project, and optionally written to an associated SQL database and results files
• Notifications (if any) are issued by SMS/email to recipient defined in the SQL database
• Project is saved and closed.

Once a project analysis has been completed the SHM Automation Service continues to the next project in the XML list.
