Data acquisition system designed for long term monitoring of structures typically store recordings in files continuously in a designated file folder. The files are often named using the UTC time of the first sample in the file.

For an external storage project these files can be automatically loaded from the designated file folder and processed by ARTeMIS Modal Pro using the Automatic File Upload (AFU) module. The external storage project just has to be created, and a Master Analysis Session needs to be configured. After this the AFU module will take care of the analysis of subsequent Analysis Sessions and save results in the project and in the database as well if configured.

Additional file import options specific to different formats can be used as well
For specific file naming based on UTC time multiple consecutive files can loaded and merged into a single Analysis Session. Time to next file upload can be fixed number of minutes or scheduled. Multiple scheduled file uploads per day can be defined
Different post processing file actions such as moving the file can be configured
A ring buffer mechanism can be configured to delete raw measurement files already uploaded and detach analysis sessions to free disk space

Uses

The AFU module is accessible from the SHM Configuration dialog and from the application status bar
The automatic file upload can be started and stopped through a menu item in the application status bar
In case the project is closed with automatic file upload enabled, then the user will be ask to start or stop next time the project is opened
