Crystal Clear SSI

ARTeMIS Extractor Pro 2009 is now stronger than ever.

A new feature resulting in extremely clear stabilization diagrams is now introduced as an add-on to the well-known SSI algorithms available in ARTeMIS Extractor Pro.

This new revolutionary feature is called Crystal Clear Stochastic Subspace Identification (CC-SSI).

The algorithm has proven to be extremely robust in many difficult cases such as:

  • Heavily damped modes
  • Weak modes mixed with dominant deterministic signals (harmonics)
  • High number of modes in a narrow frequency range.

Due to the highly consistent estimation of the poles, the search for the optimal model order is less critical when using this new feature. Especially the damping estimates are much more robust now than ever before.

Automatic Mode Estimation

Along with the new revolutionary feature called Crystal Clear SSI ARTeMIS Extractor Pro also features Automatic Mode Estimation for SSI.

This feature searches for the stable modes in the Stabilization Diagram. All stable modes of all estimated models of all test setups are included in the search, and the result is modal estimates of natural frequencies, damping ratios and modes shapes of high accuracy.

The estimates are presented in terms of both mean values and standard deviations. The feature works extremely robust even in the case of closely spaced modes, as seen below.

In February 2009, SVS was exhibiting at IMAC XXVII held at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in Orlando Florida, along with our cooperation partner Dynamic Design Solutions, producer of FEMtools.

SVS presented the ARTeMIS Analyzer Pro and Dynamic Design Solutions demonstrated the integrated version of ARTeMIS Extractor, running inside FEMtools.

  New Employees

Nis Møller has joined SVS as a part time application specialist on Operational Modal Analysis.
Nis holds a degree in electronics from the Technical University of Denmark and has experience in structural dynamics since mid 80’s. Nis has during a long period been working with Brüel & Kjær and there developed systems for modal analysis on large structures as well as contributing to the implementation of modal analysis in general.

Nis has been the author of many papers for conferences such as IMAC, ICSV, SAE etc. and holds the second chair in the committee of International Operational Modal Analysis Conference (IOMAC).

Since March Sara Hjort Knudsen has worked as our Sales and Marketing Coordinator at our office in Denmark. Sara holds a Masters degree in Culture, Communication and Globalization from the University of Aalborg and her last position was at Air Greenland A/S where she worked as a Marketing Coordinator.

Sara will be taking care of the customer database and general marketing activities to ensure the best possible awareness about the ARTeMIS software.
