ARTeMIS Modal 5 now
includes a plugin that enable direct control of data acquisition
modules from National Instruments. ARTeMIS Modal communicates with
the National Instruments API called NI-DAQmx, and all modules
handled by this API can be used in ARTeMIS Modal.

New SSI-UPCX Modal Estimator with Uncertainty
From ARTeMIS Modal
Pro 5, a new powerful
Stochastic Subspace Identification technique
is included. The name of this Crystal
Clear Stochastic Subspace Identification technique is Extended Unweighted
Principal Component, or in short SSI-UPCX.
aspect of the SSI-UPCX technique is that uncertainty
estimation of the modal parameters is performed in a fast and
memory-efficient way. Uncertainties associated with the measured data are
propagated to uncertainties associated with the estimated modal parameters.
The uncertainties are visualized in the Stabilization Diagram using
confidence bounds, and through the estimated
Coeffiencients of Variation (CV) the most uncertain
modes are automatically filtered out.
There are several benefits of this new technique
compared to today's modal analysis estimation techniques:
More accurate estimates of modal parameters than
when using conventional "mean value" based clustering techniques.
Effective elimination of computational (noise)
modes and other unstable modes.
Automatic modal estimation becomes more reliable
in Structural Health Monitoring.
