Online License Activation for ARTeMIS Software
Products
Please read this
description if
you have a
node-locked
license that you
need to activate
online over the
Internet.
License Activation Process - Step by Step
In the following
the process of
activating a
license over the
internet is
described step
by step. 1. Install the ARTeMIS Software Product
Once you have
purchased a
node-locked single-user software license
you will receive
an email with a
download link
and an
activation key.
You should keep
this email since
it is the only
place your
activation key
is written. If
you loose your
activation key,
please contact
support@svibs.com.
Download the
software
installation
program and
install the
software by
following the
instructions on
the screen.
Please note that
the software
require Windows
XP/Vista/7 32-bit
platform with an
Intel processor
and an OpenGL
enabled graphics
adaptor.
Once installed
please run the
software, either
by double
clicking the
icon on the
desktop or from
the Start,
All Programs,
Structural
Vibration
Solutions
folder.
NOTE:
Please make sure
you are running
the software on
the computer you
wish to issue a
license for,
otherwise use
the
evaluation
option instead.
2. Activate the Software
In this section
the activation
procedure is
demonstrated
using the
ARTeMIS
Extractor
software.
However, the
procedure is
exactly the same
for all other
ARTeMIS
products.
The first time
the software
starts you will
see the
following dialog
appear:

If you like to
activate the
software using
the internet on the
current computer
make sure the
dropdown list in
the bottom is
set to
Activate Online
over Internet,
and
enter the
activation code
you have
received by
email as shown
below:

If the entered
activation key
is valid and if
the computer is
connected to the
Internet, the
software will
start in normal
mode right after
the OK
button has been
pushed. In this
case the
activation
server has
written a
license file on
the computer.
If the
activation
dialog does not
appear, or if
you are
re-activating
the software
after an
evaluation
period or
because you have
purchased an
upgrade, then go
to the Help,
Activate Product
menu item.
Clicking on this
item will start
the dialog
manually.
3. The License File
This license
file is located
in the folder
where the
executables of
the ARTeMIS
software is
located. The
file extension
is .lic and the
contents of it
looks as the
example below:

Please do not
make changes to
the content of
the file and do
not move the
file to another
location. In
both cases the
software might
not be able start in a
proper manner.
4. In Case the Activation Fails
If the
activation fails
there might be
several reasons:
1. The
activation key
has been entered
wrongly.
2. The maximum
number of
activations for
this specific
license has been
exceeded.
3. The license
server is
temporary out of
reach.
4. The computer
is not connected
to the Internet.

re-attempt to
activate a
license fails
